Saving Money In Creative Ways for New GMC Trucks

New GMC Truck IncentivesGeneral Motors has teamed up with Capital One to offer great incentives for both owners of GMC trucks as well as loyal Capital One cardholders with the GM Card from Capital One and it was announced today that this automotive credit card has “passed the seven-million mark in Cardmember vehicle redemptions.”  How does this happen to someone you might be asking?  Well, GM Card members are able to accumulate earnings with every purchase that they make.  Unlike most point systems…these can be redeemed to purchase or lease a new GM vehicle!  Now that is putting your points to good use!

Here are a few examples of people who cashed in on their points and just how awesome of a deal they were able to receive with their benefits:

Thomas E. Jama Sr.’s eighth new-vehicle redemption using his GM Card earned him a $7,000 bonus in GM Card earnings toward a future GM vehicle purchase or lease. Jama’s Feb. 12 purchase of a 2014 GMC Terrain Denali from Nick Abraham Buick GMC in Elyria, Ohio was No. seven million. He has been a GM Cardmember since 1996.  “The GM Card is a great way to save money on a new car or truck and it’s really easy – you just show up at the dealership and show your card,” Jama said.

How exactly are these points earned?  GM Card holders are able to gain 5-percent on their first $5,000 of net card purchase each and every year.  In addition, they earn an unlimited 2 percent on all of their other purchases!  There must be fees associated right?  The answer is no!  There is no annual fee and there are no limits on the rewards that you can accumulate and redeem toward the purchase or lease of your new vehicle!  You can use your points to purchase or lease your choice of a Chevrolet, Buick, BMC or Cadillac.  Worried yours points will expire?  Well, you can put those concerns aside, because your points won’t expire!

Taking the Perfect Test Drive in Buick Cars

New Buicks for SaleIf you are shopping around Thunder Bay for a new car, you are probably trying to decide which one is the best for you based on a number of different comparisons.  You may be looking at price and price alone, but for most people, the final decision is based on more than just price.  Most shoppers are also looking at things like fuel economy and features that come available in different models.  Regardless of how you are choosing your new car purchase, you will likely make your final decision based on a test drive.  Believe it or not, a test drive is not always just a matter of getting in the car and driving a few blocks to make your decision.  There are a few things you should keep in mind to guarantee that your test drive will truly help you make the best decision on the new car you choose in the end.  After all…you have to like that car after the new wears off too right?  At Dominion Motors we go to great lengths to make sure that you have the best test drive possible so that you can make a well informed decision on your purchase.  Here are a few things we suggest:

  • Test drive your potential new Buick in the same environment that you drive in on a daily basis.  Driving in different environments and under different traffic conditions than you typically do will not really give you the best idea of how the car will function for you on a regular basis.
  • Take more than one test drive.  Take one drive to just listen to the car and see how it operates for you.  Then, take another drive using all that it has to offer.  Use the features and controls and make sure that they all work conveniently for you.
  • Make a few stops to get in and out of the car so that you can make sure it is built for you size and can accommodate your needs.
  • If you have small children who use car seats, try out the seats in the car before you make the decision.  The last thing you want is a vehicle that may not keep the kids comfortable in the back seat too!

Maintaining Your Tire Pressure in the Winter

GMC Trucks Service DepartmentTire maintenance is always important, however it is even more crucial to take care of your tires in the winter.  Not only will this save you money over the long haul by reducing the cost of replacing your tires, but it will also keep you and your passengers safe on the roadways.  A large part of keeping your tires in top shape in the winter involves your tire pressure.  Maintaining the correct tire pressure can become a challenge in the winter months.  When the temperature drops, your tires lose pressure.  In fact, for every 10 degrees that the temperature drops, your tire car lose approximately 1 pound per square inch (PSI) of pressure.  Every make and model has a specific recommendation for what the tire pressure should be.  This can be found in your owner’s manual or you can contact your Dominion Motor’s service department and we can let you know the numbers to keep your tires operating at.  At any rate, maintaining those levels is very important.  The good news…it is easy to do!

First, pay attention to the weather.  If there is a serious drop in temperature from one day to the next, then you may want to check out your pressure to make sure you tires are still in good shape.  If you are fortunate to have a garage to house your car or truck, you will actually need to pay even more attention to your tires than someone who doesn’t.  Your vehicle will go from more drastic differences in temperatures and you don’t want the false feeling of warmth that your tires are experiencing in your garage to cause you problems in the cold.

If you are unsure how to check the tire pressure in your car or truck, contact your local Dominion Motor’s service department, where we can easily show you how to properly check the pressure in your Thunder Bay GMC trucks!
