Engine and Safety of a Used Buick Lucerne from Dominion Motors

thumbs up with best choiceIn a previous and recent post we discussed the Buick cars in the Lucerne lineup that stopped being produced in 2011.  The fact that they are circulating here and there in the used car market can mean good things for those of you that want a good deal on a fantastic car in Thunder Bay.  Previously we discussed some of the details surrounding the features available on certain trim levels of these Buick cars at your local used car dealer in Thunder Bay Canada.  Today, we will look at some more information regarding these fabulous pre-owned cars in Thunder Bay.

The front-wheel-drive Buick Lucerne came with one of two engine offerings.  The CX and CXL models of these pre-owned Buick cars will be equipped with a 3.9-liter V6 producing 227 hp and 237 pound-feet of torque.  If you find yourself sitting behind the wheel of a Buick Lucerne in the Super trim, you will be powered by a 4.6-liter V8 with 292 hp and 288 lb-ft of torque.  Either way, the engine in your Buick car will be backed up by very competent, highly rated, four-speed automatic transmission.  The EPA-estimated fuel economy for the V6 engine discussed above from your Thunder Bay Canadian car dealer is 17 mpg city/27 mpg highway and 21 mpg combined. The V8 is obviously more fuel consuming at 15 in the city, 23 on the highway and 18 combined miles per gallon.

Concerned about the safety of your friends and family?  Of course you are.  Driving or riding along in one of the used Buick cars in the Lucerne family, you needn’t worry, however.  Safety is of the utmost importance to Buick and it is reflected in their Buick cars lineup indeed.  In 2011, the final year of the Buick Lucerne production, these cars were equipped with the following: antilock brakes, traction and stability control, front side-impact airbags and side curtain airbags.
