Looking ahead to the future of Buick Cars, we see one on the immediate horizon for China that, though we will not likely experience now, may get to see for sale in the United States and Canada sometime in the future, assuming all goes well. It is the Buick Lacrosse Hybrid and it is innovative to say the least. We like that the engine is a four cylinder powerhouse when operating in gasoline mode. This sticks with the power and comfort of a traditional Buick, but replaces gas guzzlers effectively with the hybrid electric option under the hood as well.
At your Dominion Motors, Thunder Bay Buick Car Dealership in Canada, we are reporting the details surrounding these upcoming new Buick Cars in hopes that we will offer them here someday. “In place of that model’s 3.6-liter V-6 gasoline engine shown there, though, the Lacrosse Hybrid uses a 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine and a 1.5-kilowatt-hour lithium-ion battery pack in the trunk.”
There are some distinct, important and favorable similarities to new cars already on the market from the same manufacturer, “Both the engine displacement and battery-pack size match those of the 2016 Chevy Malibu Hybrid.” And, though total system output is not listed by Buick, it can be assessed with close enough accuracy, “Buick didn’t list total system output (it’s 182 horsepower in the Malibu Hybrid), but said the Lacrosse Hybrid will do 0 to 62 mph in 8.9 seconds.” In the US, the Malibu Hybrid is rated at 46 mpg, the Buick Lacrosse Hybrid is expected to do just over that, at 50 mpg, though it is also suspected this measurement is on the Chinese standard. Keep your eyes on the inventory at your Thunder Bay Buick Car Dealership to see if and when these new Buick Cars make their way overseas back to us. If so, it is our opinion that they will produce top sales for any dealer who offers them.
