We are here to continue our talks regarding the new GMC Trucks in the Canyon lineup at your Thunder Bay GMC Truck Dealer in Ontario. One of the big aspects of the diesel version of these new trucks in Canada lies in the engine. So, let us look more closely at the Duramax engine, shall we?
Here is what the GMC Canada manufacturer’s website had to say about the engine specs. This may be good to know if you or someone you know is in the market for a new GMC truck that can offer even more in the way of ability and recreation, because, as you can see, the power goes up and the efficiency increases right along with it. That is a very unusual dynamic, as many other new trucks on the Canadian and US market will offer you one or the other, but they are usually inversely proportionate. In other words, the efficiency is gained, while power is typically lost and vice versa. “Canyon’s all-new 2.8L Duramax turbo-diesel engine generates 181 horsepower (135 kW) and 369 lb-ft of torque (500 Nm) to enable trailering ratings of 7,700 pounds (3,492 kg) on 2WD models and 7,600 pounds (3,447 kg) for 4WD models – ratings unmatched by other midsize competitors.”
How about emissions in terms of what to expect from this GMC Truck engine? We all want something that is as clean as can be for the sake of our environment in Thunder Bay ON. Can we count on these new pick up trucks to offer the highest level of clean? “The Duramax 2.8L has been certified to the cleanest standards of any diesel truck ever produced by GM and meets tough U.S. emissions standards largely with a cooled exhaust gas recirculation system. It is also B20-capable.” Sounds like we can count on these new trucks for cleanliness, efficiency and power…what more can we ask for?
